Vondrousova vs Osaka: another step to the gold for Osaka?
On July 27, in the Olympic tournament's round of 16 Marketa Vondrousova will take on Naomi Osaka. Japanese player is looking unbeatable at Tokyo so far. Will she experience any problems in the match against the Czech player? The answer is in our prediction.
Marketa Vondrousova played badly during the grass part of the season, winning only one match in three tournaments. But despite that, she approached the Olympic tournament at Tokyo in a great form. Her opponents were not so strong though.
In the first round Marketa beat Kiki Bertens, who is in a bad form, in three sets (6:4, 3:6, 6:4). After that she had another match against the player in decline. Buzarnescu was beaten by Marketa quite easily (6:1, 6:2).
While many Olympic medal contenders are leaving the tournament, Naomi Osaka is only playing better with every single match. She is on her way to another trophy.
In the first round Naomi put up an impressive performance after a long break. She beat Zheng Saisai in straight sets (6:1, 6:4). In the second round Naomi once again gave only five games to her opponent. Viktorija Golubic had no chance for a victory (6:3, 6:2).
Only in one out of last five Vondrousova's matches more than nine games were played in the first set
Four out of last five Osaka's matches ended in two sets
Naomi Osaka is currently the main favourite of the women's singles Olympic tournament. In neither of her two matches in Tokyo she was close to a defeat. Naomi won both matches with a handicap of (-7) games. We are expecting the same in the round of 16.
Our prediction - Osaka to win with a handicap of (-5) games
Prediction: Handicap (-5) on Osaka

When Osaka is playing in full strength, she usually needs only two sets and a low number of games to record a victory. We already saw this in Tokyo. We offer to place a bet on total under.
Second bet is on total under 19 games
